The International Symposium on Electrical Insulation (ISEI)
is a fully-sponsored by the IEEE Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society meeting, which is held every two years.

The Symposium is intended to bring together the industrial, utility, government and academic communities to discuss all aspects of electrical insulation technology.

The conference is a venue to discuss the development, application, and testing of electrical insulation, usually in high voltage equipment such as transformers, rotating machines, switchgear and cables. The conference papers are oriented to practical applications, rather than basic research.

Topics of special interest to the Symposium include:

  • new insulation materials and processing methods
  • novel applications of insulation in equipment
  • single and multiple stress aging tests on materials
  • advances in understanding failure processes
  • evaluation of electrical insulation properties
  • remaining life estimation and extension
  • insulation test methods
  • insulation design methods
  • diagnostic condition assessment methods for transformers, cables, capacitors, switchgear, motors, generators and other electrical apparatus
  • environmental aspects of insulation
